The heat pump provides heating, hot water supply and cooling of the house. The backup heat source is a 6kW electric heater integrated into the heat pump. The house is heated and cooled only by surface systems: warm floors and warm/cold walls. The facility uses a "passive" cooling system. The low temperature of the soil is directly used to cool the building, without the operation of the heat pump compressor. The facility is also equipped with a ventilation system with heat recovery and flexible Fränkische polymer air ducts. Hot water is heated as hygienically as possible thanks to the use of the Waterkotte flow station
